Compensation: $45k MIN- DOE

Schedule: Full-Time (Monday- Friday)

Location: Tempe, AZ


The Instructional Designer will create online learning modules and live web-based   training sessions, instructor-led training guides, and supporting materials   following an instructional design process. The Instructional Designer will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate our employees. Deliver skill-based training, coaching, and mentoring to learners and facilitators.


Essential Functions:

  • Assists Training and Development team in working with stakeholders to evaluate existing training, analyzes training needs, identifies learning objectives, and ensures trainings meet expectations.  Identifies specific training needs within   each business department to recommend appropriate training strategies and to produce the appropriate training materials. 
  • Designs and develops quality training programs for various delivery types (online, video, classroom, live online, etc) that provides organizational impact and improves   performance. Develops technical documentation, training manual, performance   support, online help, and other educational materials.
  • Creates and executes measurement strategies for all performance and learning initiatives that   account for effectiveness and demonstrates business impact.  Quickly synthesize and write course content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, etc.   
  • Conducts performance and instructional analyses and assesses requirements and needs of target audience in order to isolate gaps and improve performance.  Use story boards to draft screen layouts, graphics and interactions as appropriate to the content.     
  • Coordinates and maintains training projects to ensure successful development and implementation of training that are on budget and delivered on time. 
  • Plans and schedules regular project meetings and provides regular status reports to business owners, SMEs, and T&D team. Define project schedules in line with corporate projects and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Complete various training, project management, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Ability to develop workflows and business procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Bachelor's degree instructional design, instructional technology or related field is required
  • Experience with Online Training Development tools, such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate
  • Strong interpersonal skills in both client interactions and team interactions
