Starting in 2007, MY DR NOW is a growing provider of healthcare services with 7 busy clinics in the East Valley and West Valley.  And since 2015 our newest division, Provider House Calls, is experiencing a large growth explosion throughout our city and has recently expanded into Tucson and Northern Arizona.  This growth means we need to recruit more operational staff to support these provider services.  Our physicians (MD & DO), nurse practitioners (NP) and physician assistants (PA) that provide the services are growing exponentially and we need you to keep providing healthcare services to our patients in our clinics and their homes.

The Director of Communications, Internal and External position is responsible for development of communications strategy planning and organizing the implementation of projects, administering communications and community development activities, and coordinating the implementation of public relations improvements, social media and other related programs. This position is also responsible for setup and development of effective, secure and timely data communications to, from and between internal and external customers, including developing and facilitating the implementation of projects related to commitment to community relations and being a valued neighbor in those communities that we serve. This position requires close coordination with leadership team, people operations and clinical teams.


  • Create a communications/public relations strategy that will allow MY DR NOW to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including relevant media outlets and key influencers
  • Works with leadership team, people operations, clinical operations, internal committees and project managers to develop customized and specific communications strategy to recognize internal and external communications and solutions.
  • Advance MY DR NOW’s brand, voice and impact.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to further MY DR NOW’s brand awareness in the market through innovative use of social media and the use of executive voices. Help drive content development that consistently ties to MY DR NOW’s key messages and complies with the brand.
  • Manage agency relationships to ensure highest level of performance and results.
  • Manage communications internal and external metrics to advise the CEO and COO on data-driven decisions and solutions regarding brand awareness, PR and Social media.
  • Continuously develop, implement and educate leadership team, people operations and team members to consistent internal use of best-in-class internal and external communications.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
  • Represents the company at community meetings.


Required Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience and a demonstrated track record of success at leadership level performance with a healthcare or startup company.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier technology and business reporters and editors.
  • Successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive, strategic communications, media relations program to advance MY DR NOW’s mission and goals
  • Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized, and a keen ability to leverage our brand
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialists
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and MY DR NOW’s Executive leadership and staff

You have significant experience with:

  • Developing media lists (you know CISION inside out)
  • Generating pitch angles for client campaigns
  • Writing compelling brand pitches that editors can't help but open and read
  • Managing a team and ensuring they stay on deadline
  • Training and onboarding new team members
  • Account management and keeping clients happy


You have the following skill set:

  • Incredible copywriting skills
  • Data driven (your excel skills are superb)
  • Tech-savvy (you love getting your hands dirty with new apps/tech and are always looking for a better way to do things)
  • Great communicator and super organized
